We had a phone call today. A customer had purchased our Berry 2010 Master Plan Diary and was on a holiday around Australia. (She was in Bunbury today) Unfortunately she misplaced her much used and loved diary and it couldn’t be found. Her husbands suggestion was to go into officeworks to purchase another regular diary. I don’t think so!!! The Master Plan starts in October and can be used straight away. So our customer called, ordered another diary today which we are express posting to her next destination for collection on Monday. It gives us warm and fuzzy feelings when people love and use our products. We love hearing feedback!!

On Sunday, Milestone Press braved the bucketing rain to have a stall at Mathilda’s Markets in Hawthorn, Melbourne. Annabel and I don’t do markets very often. We have a great group of stockists whom we don’t want to compete with, and once you have specialised in wholesaling, retailing adds another complicated dimension.

I was able to sell boxes of dinted and scratched books and finally clear them out of my study. I am sure I will find some other junk to take their place! The best thing about selling at a market is communicating with the public. The recognition of our products gives us a real buzz. One mother jokingly compared The Master Plan with heroin, once you start it you can’t stop! A normal diary doesn’t have the space that the Master Plan has to coordinate multiple schedules. And it was good to know that we aren’t the only mothers who are crazy busy at the moment. Term 4 at school is just non-stop, so looking forward to the holidays when maybe I can give The Master Plan a rest for a couple of days lol!

On Wednesday Emily had her first day of school. She was very excited. We were up, dressed, hair done, teeth brushed before 7am. Em had a great day at school. She was a little confused as to why they hadn’t taught her to write yet!! In her school there are another 74 little preps starting. Drop off’s I am sure will become a little hectic. I pulled out my Master Plan this morning to schedule in a few “dates” and have been surprised by the look of envy on other mums faces. Many have the wall planners but LOVE the fact that this is a diary that can fit in the handbag.Em is only at school until 12.30, until next week when they start full day and have extra activities. I think it will hit me then that I have a school age child. Packing lunches, getting Georgia to daycare and working. Does anyone have any tips??Fiona’s daughter Sabrina starts school on Monday, look out for a photo then!! Annabel
